2 00 6 A contact process with mutations on a tree

چکیده
Consider the following stochastic model for immune response. Each pathogen gives birth to a new pathogen at rate λ. When a new pathogen is born, it has the same type as its parent with probability 1− r. With probability r, a mutation occurs, and the new pathogen has a different type from all previously observed pathogens. When a new type appears in the population, it survives for an exponential amount of time with mean 1, independently of all the other types. All pathogens of that type are killed simultaneously. Schinazi and Schweinsberg (2006) have shown that this model on Z d behaves rather differently from its non-spatial version. In this paper, we show that this model on a homogeneous tree captures features from both the non-spatial version and the Z d version. We also obtain comparison results between this model and the basic contact process on general graphs.

Cadmium Removal from Aqueous Solutions Using Saxaul Tree Ash
Cadmium can be found in wastewater in high concentrations and can cause dangerous effect on aqueous environment and human health. At present, many methods have been used to heavy metals removal. Among this clean up techniques, adsorption techniques by using low-cost adsorbent are more considerable. In this study, batch adsorption experiments were conducted for removal of cadmium ions from a...
متن کاملInvestigation of GDF9 and BMP15 Polymorphisms in Mehraban Sheep to Find the Missenses as Impact on Protein
Utilization of fecundity genes such as GDF9 and BMP15 can help improve reproductive traits in sheep breeding programme. To evaluate effects of missense mutations on protein function, the polymorphisms of GDF9 and BMP15 genes were screened in twelve mehraban sheep using DNA sequencing, followed by protein structure modeling. Six single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) known as FecG mutations (G1-G...

We study the threshold θ ≥ 2 contact process on a homogeneous tree Tb of degree κ = b + 1, with infection parameter λ ≥ 0 and started from a product measure with density p. The corresponding mean-field model displays a discontinuous transition at a critical point λMF c (κ, θ) and for λ ≥ λ MF c (κ, θ) it survives iff p ≥ p MF c (κ, θ, λ), where this critical density satisfies 0 < pMF c (κ, θ, λ...
متن کاملThe Evaluation of Removal Efficiency of Phenol from Aqueous Solutions using Moringa Peregrina Tree Shell Ash
Background and purpose: Phenol is one of prevalent contaminants found in many industrial wastewaters. The combination with special features, such as high toxicity, carcinogenic properties, vitality gathering ability, low biodegradation potentiality and others, based on the U.S Environmental Protection Agency, classified as a priority pollutant. The purpose of this study was to determine the eff...

We study isomorphism invariant point processes of R whose groups of symmetries are almost surely trivial. We define a 1-ended, locally finite tree factor on the points of the process, that is, a mapping of the point configuration to a graph on it that is measurable and equivariant with the point process. This answers a question of Holroyd and Peres. The tree will be used to construct a factor i...
